Funny You Should Say That!

The Cougarlicious™ Cubhouse welcomed the dynamic and multi-talented Heather Dragalascu for a high-energy episode packed with laughter, insight, and serious community love. From the opening jingle to heartfelt conversations about creativity and connection, the show highlighted the powerful role improv plays both on stage and in everyday life. As Creative Communications Director of Mom’s Basement Theatre, Heather shared how the once-simple rehearsal space evolved into one of Las Vegas’ most exciting black box theaters — now hosting up to eight shows a week and growing rapidly.

Originally home to ComedySportz Las Vegas, Mom’s Basement has expanded into a vibrant performance hub offering short-form competitive improv, stand-up comedy, classes, private corporate events, and even outrageous fan-favorite shows like Extremeprov. Heather emphasized that improv isn’t just about being funny — it’s about listening, collaboration, adaptability, and learning to let go of ego. Whether it’s helping stand-ups sharpen their crowd work, teaching professionals stronger communication skills through applied improv, or creating space for independent performers to stage one-woman shows, the mission is clear: build community and uplift artists.

At its core, Mom’s Basement isn’t trying to be a gatekeeper — it’s striving to be a hub. With upcoming events including comedy showcases, women-led improv nights, St. Patrick’s Day performances, and competitive ComedySportz matchups, the momentum keeps building. As Donna Joy reminds viewers each week: creativity thrives where people feel safe to play, explore, and laugh together. Because when we laugh, we connect — and when we connect, we rise. Stay bold, stay playful, and of course… stay Cougarlicious.
